Screen printing emulsions
-
Purpose: Emulsion is a light-sensitive liquid used to create a stencil or image on a screen. When exposed to light, the emulsion hardens, and the unexposed areas remain soft, creating the image for printing.
-
Types: There are different types of emulsions depending on the printing job and exposure times, including water-based and solvent-based emulsions.
Since all liquid emulsion and emulsion sheets (capillary film) are light-sensitive, application should be done in a darkroom or under ultra-violet (U.V.) safe lights.
