The Polaris S4 builds direct-to-garment printing into a production line. It runs on M&R's Stryker oval base with a servo-drive indexer, pretreats each shirt in-line with the S4 digital pretreater, flattens and preheats it with onboard heat presses and flashes, then prints white and CMYK on two dedicated digital print units.

S4 digital pretreat

Pretreat "shape for shape", only where you print

The S4 pretreater sprays chemistry only directly behind the image, so there's less boxing and staining and less chemistry used. Density, fade, feather, choke and spread are set per job in the recipe software, and narrow spray tips switch between light and dark shirt settings.

Digital pretreat applied only behind the print, then dried before white ink goes down, so shirts move straight from loading to printing.

Heat presses and flashes

Onboard, digitally controlled heat presses flatten fibers and add residual heat; flashes cure the white before CMYK prints wet on dry.

Dual digital print units

Sixteen industrial stainless-steel printheads for white and sixteen for CMYK, with variable drop size for smoother blends and a wider gamut.
